Lokayukt costs, 45 crores and 10 years, Thanks to Mr. Modi Legal loop holes and generosity of Democracy ends for Modi with the Judgment of The supreme court Gujarat NO. 1 in legal expenditure?

The Supreme Court rejected the Gujarat government’s curative petition to prevent appointment of Lokayukta Mr. R. A Mehta.

It took 10 years to appoint Lokayukt in Gujarat. And Gujarat government has lost rupees 45 crores of public money behind the battle of court. Other indirect costs like time of officers and expenses made by the department are additional, it may double the amount. The whole battle was fought to prevent Lokayukt’s appointment in Gujarat.

Modi government engaged 25 top advocates to fight the case against Justice R A Mehta. Namely they are K K Venugopal, Gopal Subramaniam, Harish Salve, Mukul Rohatgi, Rajiv Dhavan, Soli Sorabjee, Sanjay Hegde, Mihir Thakore and E C Agarwala, etc. Government also paid for the expenses of two NGOs to support the government’s contention in the Supreme Court. The total expenditure on the Lokayukt battle reaches to nearly Rs 45 crore.

Now with the decision of Supreme court the legal battle is over. There is no legal options remains for Modi government except to accept the Justice R. A. Mehta as Lokayukt.

Why Modi didn’t want Lokayukt?

What Modi believes or think is right, what he understands is the Law. What he dreams is reality. He believes that what he speaks, one should understand it as universal truth.

Because of these dictatorial beliefs, Modi didn’t want Lokayukt in the state.

Scams Including Land allotment of more than one lakh twelve thousand crores of rupees and other 17 large scams are pending with Modi government since 10 years. Modi does not want his government to be challenged by Lokayukt. He does not want to be investigated any of deeds of him or his government because he believes that, what he does is right, what he thinks is Law. According to his attitude there is no need of Lokayukt in the state. The fact is that major decisions and actions taken by Modi government are full of corruption and anti democratic.

But now it seems that, Modi has used enough of loop holes of Law and generosity of Democracy, It comes to an end for him, now onwards as far as Lokayukt appointment is concerns.
