There is “Grave threat to the life, liberty and security of Shamima Kauser and her children as well as Rauf Lala and Mohinuddin Ismail Sayed, all residents of Mumbra, Thane.”, wrote Vrinda Grover, Counsel for Shamima Kauser in a letter to Union Home Secretary, Mr. Anil Goswami today.

Shamima Kauser, her children, Rauf Lala and Mohinuddin Ismail Sayed have since 2004 sought justice for Ishrat Jehan, who was allegedly killed in a fake encounter in June 2004 by Gujarat police in conspiracy with others. Vrinda Grover in her letter to the Union Home Secretary has requested him to take urgent action for the protection of Shamima Kauser’s family members, Rauf Lala and Mohinuddin Ismail Sayed. Vrinda Grover has also sought an urgent appointment with Anil Goswami to discuss the matter.

A Copy of the letter has been sent to the Director CBI – Shri Ranjit Sinha and to the CBI-SIT Ishrat Jehan at Gandhinagar investigating the killing of Ishrat Jehan and others.

Please find attached a letter to draw your immediate attention to the grave threat to the life, liberty and security of Shamima Kauser and her children as well as Rauf Lala and Mohinuddin Ismail Sayed, all residents of Mumbra, Thane.

Shamima Kauser, her children and the above named, have since 2004 sought justice for Ishrat Jehan, who was murdered in a fake encounter in June 2004 by Gujarat police in conspiracy with others.

You are requested to take urgent necessary action for their protection.

You are also requested to give an appointment for early next week to discuss the same.
