Yes, I’m a Black Star: Samreen Saquib Naaz

Yes, I’m a Black Star

I don’t twinkle, or
Form a constellation
I just shine Dark…

Yes, I’m a revolutionary.
I tread a nameless path-
Most of the times, alone!
I’ve no one by my side.

Yes, I’m an actor.
I simulate diverse characters
I cry my character’s tears, I smile his smile
I’ve forgotten my own self!

Yes, I’m a singer .
People listen to my melodious psalms
And fine-tuned rhetorics.
Nobody gathers the pain-chord in my heart.

Yes, I’m a writer.
I voice-out when I’m forlorn,
Forsaken, derelict and dejected
Not that I want to preach!

Yes, I’m a dancer .
I’m ceaseless, and
I spin free…
Because I’m shackled inside.

Yes, I’m a joker.
I make you laugh with
My idiosyncracies, while
I haven’t smiled for years.

Yes, I’m a painter.
I paint pictures of my beloved
She’s in a happy trance;
Resting in some other man’s arms.

 Yes, I’m a friend.
One who’s drained of being considerate,
A compassionate tear-wiper, and
Never being on the receiving end.

Yes, I’m a beggar .
I aimed for the stars, too.
Fate had a different design;
I still don’t like to beg.

Yes, I’m a bird.
I’m made so as to fly,
High up in the sky
But, I’m caged.

Yes, I’m a leaf.
I turn yellow..  who cares!
I fall off one day. Nobody
seems too assiduous to be bothered…

 Yes, I’m a baby.
I’m a fresh flower :
I want to bloom big.
Unhearty world takes my innocence away.

Yes, I’m a woman.
I suffer,  and am raped and killed.
Do you realize I’m no different
From the other sex?

Yes, I’m a Black Star.
I don’t twinkle, or
Form a constellation.
I just shine Dark…

Yes, I’m LIFE!
Meet me,Greet me, Lick my feet
I make you all
Dance to my beats!
